Every year since 1992, Montblanc has paid tribute to great writers whose works have become part of world literature, with its Writers Limited Editions. Each of the writing instruments is inspired by the genius of the authors and interprets the lives, spirits and works of these outstanding personalities

 

Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller was a German poet, philosopher, physician, historian, and playwright.  To honor his work Montblanc created the Schiller Limited Writers Edition set in the year 2000. It is made of a material that was a symbol of a changing society, especially in Schiller’s time: Amber.

 

 

It is elaborately worked mixing the resin with real Amber and this, along with the simple elegance of the delicate gold-coated mountings, evokes the style of the heyday of Weimar classicism. Schiller’s signature is inscribed on the cap. The finely engraved Au 18 Karat solid gold nib is decorated with a smallcrossbow as a tribute to “William Tell”, one of his best-known pieces.

 

This complete set of the Friedrich Schiller Writers Edition is Highly Valuable due to the varying Limited quantites produced for each piece of this numbered edition.  Montblanc produced 18,000 Founain Pens, 16,000 Ballpoint Pens and a limited 4000 Mechanical Pencils.
